It was the Highton auction result no-one quite saw coming.
The fully-renovated family home at 11 Triumph Court, Highton sold for $1.49 million, a whopping $290,000 over expectation.
A family relocating from Melbourne who had their hearts and sights set on the cracking four-bedroom, three-bathroom home with panoramic views, made the purchase sight unseen.
Five bidders participated in the auction, including one, the eventual winner, who bid over the phone with Stacey, on behalf of Melbourne buyer’s advocate Cate Bakos.

“The quality of that renovation was beautiful, and it’s got lovely views and is in a nice, quiet court for families.
“The result shows that quality renovations always stand up, when you do spend that extra bit of money.”
And, the agent had to console more than a few broken hearts at the end of the day.
“There were 12 registered bidders and five got their hands up,” Ms Trempel said.
11 Triumph Court, Highton, goes to auction October 2.
“I knew by the end of the campaign there was some strong interest, and a couple of them had really fallen in love.”
Whitford, auctioneer Peter Fort had barely opened proceedings when the first bid of $1.15 million came through.
From there, bidding raced to $1.35 million, and after a few stalled moments, Mr Fort eventually brought the hammer down at $1.49 million.
